A desire to perform music consisting of samples mixed with live instruments, lead to the creation of Miller Brothers Productions studio, in Marietta, GA. In the fall of 2000, the Miller Brothers met turntablist Nervex. Driven by a similar desire to vary musical styles and flow within a set, the three began producing original material, forging the Dass de Unity sound. Andres Acosta (a.k.a. Rico Hollywood), of St. Croix, Virgin Islands, provided the voice of Dass de Unity, with his flowing MC styles in English and Spanish. From the summer of 2001 until November, the four wrote, recorded, and produced their first album, Space Steppers, at MBP studio. |
